Tight Twill Weave

Twill weave and sateen weave are the most common in bamboo sheets. But the best sheets have tight twill weave because it secures the bamboo threads in the bed sheet set and protects them from snagging on hard objects. Fabric Care for Bamboo Sheets

While our 100% pure bamboo sheets are certainly durable, please adopt these best practices so that you may extend their longevity. Then, you can enjoy all their benefits for many years to come.

Wash Before First Use

Lint is a natural byproduct of the process by which bamboo rayon sheets are made in the factory. So before using them, you should wash your bamboo bedding in warmer water on the gentle cycle, without any other towels or blankets in the load. This will get rid of the lint that had accumulated while your bamboo sheet set was being manufactured in the factory.

Also, this will allow them to shrink in the first wash. When they make the bamboo rayon sheets in the factory, they make them with extra length to allow for shrinkage when washed. You need to wash your bamboo bed linen to allow it to shrink to the size it was designed to be so that it will fit your mattress well.

Washing Tips: 

• Being machine washed is perfectly fine for bamboo sheets.

• Choose the gentle cycle when you machine wash your bamboo sheet set.

• Use warmer water on the first wash, but not too hot.

• Use warm water for all subsequent washes, ideally 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius). Remember that high heat can damage your bamboo viscose sheets.

• Wash separately from other types of laundry. This is to prevent your bamboo sheets from gathering lint from towels or from snagging against hard objects, such as zippers. Also, we do not want your bamboo sheet set to be damaged by excessive abrasion against rough fabrics.

• Use mild detergent, such as Ecos, Seventh Generation, Meyer’s Clean Day, or Aspen Clean.

• Do not use laundry balls or dryer sheets. Laundry balls may snag your bamboo sheet set while dryer sheets can leave behind a residual film.

• Do not use fabric softener. Bamboo sheets may feel stiff immediately after a wash and this is perfectly normal. However, they naturally return to being incredibly soft after they dry completely.

• Do not bleach. Bleach is too harsh for bamboo rayon sheets. Refer instead to our blog post about removing stains from bamboo sheets.

Drying Tips: 

• Use the low heat setting when you tumble dry your bamboo sheets. Low heat is important so as not to damage your bamboo sheets.

• Dry separately from other types of laundry. We want to protect your classic bamboo sheet set against gathering lint from towels or from snagging against hard objects, such as zippers. Also, we want to prevent the bamboo sheet set from being damaged by excessive abrasion against rough fabrics.

• Do not overload the spin dryer. An overloaded dryer can result in extremely wrinkled bamboo viscose sheets.

• Shake out your bamboo sheets before putting them into the dryer. Doing this will help to reduce wrinkles on your bamboo sheet set.

• Do not leave your bamboo sheet set in the dryer for too long after the drying cycle has already completed. Leaving your bamboo viscose sheets in the dryer will make the crumples and wrinkles set in.

Storage Tips:
